Product Groups
The Product Group is used within standard Kinetic to provide mechanisms for grouping along product lines and through the application of the Product Group GL Control Type and multiple Product Group GL Controls for segmentation of elements like COS and WIP within the GL.

Product Group Alignment with Other GL Control Types
The APM GL Control Type provides various options in the application of GL Controls, but this is largely focused on 2 primary methodologies:

Single Product Group per Contract / Project

Multiple Product Groups within a single Contract / Project
Details on the necessary setup to cover these options are described below.
- Standard Kinetic Path

Material Management > Inventory Management > Setup > Product Group
A product group is created.

The Product Group can then be assigned to various Parts in Kinetic.
Below is the Details page in Parts, for a part that uses the same Product Group (selected in the Group field).

Parts and their associated Products Groups can be brought into a Project via Orders (Sales Order), Quotes, Jobs, or Purchase Orders that are related to the Project.
